Jüdischer Friedhof

The Jewish cemetery is located east of the Edith Stein Church on Römerweg. It was already documented in 1522 as "juden grüben" and is referred to in the original cadastral map of 1837 as "Judenacker", described as: "These properties have been the property of the Jewish community in Wachenheim since time immemorial." The churchyard also serves as a burial site for the surrounding Jewish communities. In the early 19th century, older cemetery areas were filled in and leveled, creating space for second burials. Since the Second World War, there have only been a few burials.
At the entrance on Römerweg stands a more than 200-year-old mulberry tree, planted at the instigation of Elector Karl Theodor for the purpose of silk production.
