Für Besucher zugängliche, unterirdische Höhlenlandschaft im Naturpark Vercors

Die Grotte von Thaïs befindet sich am östlichen Ortseingang von Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans, unterhalb des majestätischen Aquädukts.

Unter fachkundiger Führung taucht ihr in eine prähistorische, unterirdische Landschaft ein, die einst vom eindringenden Wasser geformt wurde. Auf gut begehbaren Wegen bestaunt ihr bizarre Felsskulpturen und natürlich pigmentierte Höhlenwände. In dieser tausendjährigen Höhle wurden sogar Spuren von menschlicher Besiedlung gefunden, die man entdecken kann.

Etwa eine Stunde lang berichtet der Führer über die Entstehung der Höhle und ihre Besetzung während der letzten Eiszeit. Von der Urgeschichte bis zu den jüngsten Erkundungen beim Höhlentauchen wird den Besuchern erzählt. Die Temperatur in der Höhle beträgt 13°C, ihr solltet deswegen egal zu welcher Jahreszeit warme Kleidung mitbringen.
