In the right valley slope of Suchý žleb near Skalní mlýn there is an 8 meter high entrance to the Catherine Cave. It is the outflow cave of the Punkva River.
In the right valley slope of Suchý žleb near Skalní mlýn there is an 8 meter high entrance to the Catherine Cave. It is the outflow cave of the Punkva River. It consists of two interconnected massive domes with adjoining corridors. In the parts of the closer entrance there was a man of the Stone Age, whose remains were found in cave dirt beside bones of Quaternary animals, especially bears (a unique finding of cave bear skeletons in one of the cave chimneys). The main dome is the largest publicly accessible underground space in the Moravian Karst.
The total length of all known spaces reaches 950 meters with a height spread (denivelation) of over 60 meters. The sightseeing circuit is 430 meters long. The main dome is the most accessible natural underground space in the Czech Republic. A unique feature of the cave is the "Bamboo Forest" - a group of narrow, up to 4 meters tall stalagmites, whose symbol is the illuminated stone witch.
