Die Karsthöhle in Dienstedt, auch bekannt als Oberfeldhöhle, ist ein faszinierendes Naturdenkmal am Südhang des Schenkenkopfberges in Thüringen. Diese beeindruckende Karsthöhle entstand vor etwa zwei bis fünf Millionen Jahren durch die Auswaschungen der Ur-Ilm. Die Höhle ist etwa 150 Meter lang und bietet Besuchern über einen ebenerdigen Zugang eindrucksvolle Erosionsformen und historische Funde. Bei Ausgrabungen wurden unter anderem Feuerstellenreste, Tongefäße, Knochenwerkzeuge und gut erhaltene, aus Lehm gebrannte Tassen entdeckt. Der wertvollste Fund war ein in Lehm eingeschlossener, zum Teil versteinerter Kiefer eines Muschelkalk-Sauriers mit vier dunkelbraunen, kastaniengroßen, glänzenden Zähnen. Alle Funde wurden dem Museum für Ur- und Frühgeschichte Weimar übergeben. Während der Wintermonate bleibt die Höhle geschlossen, um den Fledermäusen einen ungestörten Rückzugsort zu bieten.
