Cave of Speleological Interest in the Maiella National Park
A two-kilometre-long trail leads visitors through the cave and its numerous 'halls' (e.g. the Hall of Elephants and the Hall of Statues), where they can admire the many stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes.
At its highest point, the Cavallone Cave reaches an altitude of 1,475 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest visitable caves in Europe.
The nearby Donkey and Ox Caves are part of the Cavallone cave system.
