The Balcarka Cave in Ostrov u Macochy presents with its stalactite decoration perhaps the richest cave in the Moravian Karst.

Balcarka is particularly attractive for visitors due to the variety of stalactite and stalagmite decoration on a relatively small area. The extraordinary wealth of stalactites, typically developed surface karst phenomena (sinkholes, scratches), rich archaeological and paleontological findings, prominent species of thermophilic flora and scenic landscape make Balcarka one of the most interesting places in the Moravian Karst. A part of the cave with a former museum, which was briefly opened in 1938, was newly included in the tourist circuit. An exposition representing the Balcarka Cave as a cave of reindeer and horse hunters was installed in the museum's premises.
