Die römisch-katholische Pfarrkirche von Arlesheim ist das Wahrzeichen des Dorfes und ein bedeutendes Kunstwerk barocker Architektur und Innenausstattung. Zusammen mit den ehemaligen Domherrenhäusern bildet er eine grosszügige Gesamtanlage, die in den 1680er Jahren leicht erhöht auf eine grüne Wiese neben das kleine Dorf Arlesheim gesetzt wurde.

Die Grösse, die opulente Ausstattung, die Gestalt des Chores und nicht zuletzt der Name «Dom» zeigen, dass die ursprüngliche Bestimmung des Bauwerkes nicht die einer Pfarrkirche war. Die Orgel hat als letzte noch vorhandene Silbermannorgel in der Schweiz durch die Restauration 1959/1962/2006 einen erhöhten Seltensheitswert erhalten.
