Livre ouvert de l’art gothique, la cathédrale Saint-Gatien en arbore tous les styles. Bâtie entre le XIIIe et le XVIe siècle sur les vestiges de la cité gallo-romaine, elle présente une façade flamboyante très ouvragée, joliment éclairée la nuit.

Outre ses remarquables verrières, elle renferme le tombeau des enfants d’Anne de Bretagne et de Charles VIII, gracieusement sculpté vers 1500.
