Cathedral of St Peter and Paul

Have you ever been to a place where the old legends and myths become alive? This Gothic-style Cathedral is a perfect example of a “timeless fashion”. Here, standing near this gorgeous architectural phenomenon, everyone can feel the spirit of a frozen history connected with a Thirty Years’s war, when Brno withstood the Swedish siege.

According to the legend, the Swedish General said that if he can not take the city before the Petrov noon ringing, he will end the war. Then someone decided to ring noon an hour early. The Swedes kept their word and Brno was saved.

 So, if you hear the bells chime noon at 11:00 don’t panic! Your timepiece is perfectly fine.

The interior of the cathedral is made in Baroque style, which gives it an additional piece of  elegance. Moreover, you should definitely climb to the top of this time machine and enjoy a spectacular view of the city.

This landmark has become the most important one in Czech Republic and the proof for this fact is the 10 crown coin)
