Das Wasserschloss Mitwitz befindet sich bis heute in Familienbesitz, wenngleich der Landkreis Kronach ein 99-jähriges Nutzungsrecht innehat. Einige Räume können seit der umfangreichen Sanierung im Rahmen einer geführten Tour besichtigt werden. Die Touren finden statt:

Von April bis September: Samstags 14.30 Uhr, Sonntags 11.00 Uhr und 14.00 Uhr

Im Juni/Juni/August: Dienstags 11.00 Uhr, Donnerstags 14.00 Uhr

Von Oktober bis März: Sonn- und Feiertags 14.00 Uhr

Außerdem ist es möglich, die Örtlichkeit für Veranstaltungen wie Tagungen und Hochzeiten zu mieten.
