Schloss Tirol ist die Stammburg der Grafen von Tirol
und Namens gebend für das unter Graf Meinhard II. im 13. Jh. entstandene Land.
Die ersten Mauern wurden bereits im 11. Jh. errichtet und im Laufe der Zeit
immer wieder um- und ausgebaut. Heute befindet sich hier das Südtiroler
Landesmuseum für Kultur- und Landesgeschichte. Ein Rundgang durch die alten
Gemäuer und damit durch die Geschichte Tirols lohnt sich. Darüber hinaus genießen wir hier aufgrund der
exponierten Lage einen unvergleichlichen Ausblick.
