Slatiňany Chateau

Visit the original Renaissance chateau, which was rebuilt in 1732 in the Baroque style by Josef Franz, Count of Schönfeld. Later, the interior of the castle was enriched with stucco decoration and a rococo stove. Today, the castle takes you back to the life of the princely family and offers a unique hippological museum documenting the history of horse breeding. Near the English-style castle park, there is a stud farm and paddocks where you can admire the beauty of the traditional breeds of Old Cladruban ravens and the Przewalski's horse. The castle grounds, originally Renaissance, were built on the site of an old fortress and provide a fascinating exhibition about horses and the development of horse breeding.
