The Mailänder city castle dates back to the 14th century.
By order of the Duke of Milan, Francesco Sforza, the construction of the impressive fortress Castello Sforzesco was started in the 14th century.
Today, the castle houses various museums and art collections. Sculptures from antiquity, paintings by Titian or impressive ceiling paintings by Leonardo da Vinci can be discovered here, as well as ancient musical instruments and artefacts from ancient Egypt.
