Fast genau zwischen Heidelberg und Heilbronn inmitten des Neckartals liegt das Schloss Zwingenberg. Die sehr gut erhaltene Burganlage gehört wohl zu den beeindruckendsten Festungen im Neckartal und ist seit 1808 in Markgräflich Badischem Familienbesitz.
Den besten Blick auf das Schloss haben Sie von der gegenüberliegenden Neckarseite aus oder von Bord eines der Neckar-Ausflugsschiffe.
Gleich hinter der Burg beginnt die romantische Wolfsschlucht, die zu einer erholsamen und kleinen Wanderung einlädt. Nahe der Wolfsschlucht wurde 1866 der letzte Wolf des Odenwaldes erlegt. Die Schlucht ist ein Paradies für jeden Wanderer.
Im Sommer jeden Jahres finden die Schlossfestspiele statt. Der Überlieferung nach soll der Komponist Carl Maria von Weber die Wolfsschlucht selbst gekannt haben und hier zu seinem Werk inspiriert worden sein.
