Die Gartentore mit klassizistischen Vasen auf den Pfeilern besitzen Schmiedeeisengitter des 18. Jahrhunderts. Die frühklassizistische Fassade weist einfache Lisenengliederung auf.
Kärnten ist sehr reich an repräsentativen Bauten in den Außenbeirken der Städte. vor allem die Unternehmerschicht der Montagewerke der Neuzeit hat im Lande viele architektonischen Spuren hinterlassen. So auch bei Schloss Kölnhof, dessen Name auf das 1378 erwähnte "Cholendorff" zurückgeht. Ab dem späten 16. Jahrhundert befand sich das Anwesen in den Händen von Gewerkenfamilien bzw. St. Veiter Bürgern. Um 1780 wurde das Schloss der Überlieferung nach vom Salzburger Hofbaumeister Johann Georg Hagenauer, der auch den bischöflichen Schlossbau Pöckstein in Zwischenwässern errichtete, entscheiden umgebaut. Ein drittes Geschöss wurde aufgesetzt und die noble frühklassizistische Fassade angebracht. 1891 erbte Dr. Arthur Lemisch, der spätere Landesverweser und eine der Hauptpersonen des Kärntner Abwehrkampfes das Schloss. Heute ist es der Sitz einer Ärztepraxis. Schloss Kölnhof in St. Veit an der Glan wurde erstmals 1378 als „Cholendorff“ urkundlich genannt. Es gab verschiedene Besitzer.
