Wasserschloss, Park, Museum, Liebhabertheater

Das Ensemble aus Wasserschloss, Park und Privattheater geht auf eine mittelalterliche Burganlage zurück. Besonders im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert gewann es als Rittergut der Freiherrn von Stein seine heutige Gestalt. Zwischen 1775 und 1788 weilte Goethe oft an dem idyllischen Ort, um seine Seelenfreundin Charlotte von Stein zu besuchen.
