Südlich von Weimar liegt auf einer Anhöhe und inmitten eines weitläufigen Parks mit Orangerie sowie Lust- und Irrgarten das Schloss Belvedere, die barocke Sommerresidenz der Familie von Sachsen-Weimar und Eisenach. Es ist seit 1923 ein Museum für das Kunsthandwerk des 18. Jahrhunderts, in dem erlesene Porzellane aus dem Besitz des Weimarer Herzogshauses zu sehen sind.
