Palazzo Libera
The Tridentine Diocesan Museum OF Villa Lagarina
Palazzo Libera was built in the mid-17th century by Don Antonio, archpriest of Villa Lagarina and member of the powerful Gasperini family of Monte Vineato. The building passed to the Libera family and during the Great War it was transformed into an Austrian military hospital. Today it is owned by the municipality of Villa Lagarina.
The main floor has a large living room with a coffered ceiling and frescoed walls, while the other rooms have stucco decorations and two monumental pot stoves in majolica. Outside there is a beautiful garden with driveways and fountains.
A room is dedicated to the architect Adalberto Libera. We owe to the famous architect Adalberto Libera (1903-1963) the great sculpture in the garden entitled La Madre, a work dating back to the mid-20s, full of human piety.
