Coredo Castle

Coredo Castle is located on the hill near the town, where the ancient church is also located. It is surrounded by a centuries-old park so it is hardly visible from below. Entrance to Castel Coredo is only possible with a guide.

HISTORY It was built towards the end of the 12th century. The ancient complex of buildings had a very different appearance from the current one: it is known to us because in a family tree of the Coreth family the castle is represented divided into two parts: two towers and three buildings sloping down towards the old parish church. In 1726 the castle was restored and on that occasion it definitively lost its typical feudal aspect. Now it looks like a two-storey building, more or less quadrilateral in shape. It has red and white windows like those of Castel Bragher. The ancient walls are recognizable only in parts, especially on the ground floor and in the cellars. The main apartment is located on the first floor and it includes a large living room where the family portraits are located. In the castle there are some objects of considerable artistic value and some interesting memories.
