Atout-France
Das Château d'Angers wurde unter der Regentschaft der „Blanche de Castille“ im 13. Jahrhundert errichtet. Die über 500 m lange, von 17 massiven Türmen unterbrochene Anlage hat sich als besonders abschreckend erwiesen. Im 14. und 15. Jahrhundert war die Burg Residenz der Herzöge von Anjou. Daher waren einige Ausbauten im Inneren notwendig. Die Kapelle, die königliche Wohnung und das Schloss wurden nacheinander errichtet.
Über die Zugbrücke, die über trockene Gräben führt, tretet ihr in die Festung ein und entdeckt dort das Innere mit Wohnhäusern und Gärten. Verpasst nicht den berühmten Apokalypse-Wandteppich, ein einzigartiges Meisterwerk in der Welt der mittelalterlichen Kunst.
