Fénis Castle is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Italy and the most famous in the Aosta Valley.

Initially built in the 13th century, the castle was enlarged and decorated in the 14th and 15th centuries by Aimone and Boniface I of Challant, assuming its present structure. During the decline of the family in the 17th century, the manor lost its importance and was converted into a rural farmstead. In the 19th century, thanks to Alfredo d'Andrade's interventions and subsequent restorations, the castle was recovered and turned into a museum.

Fénis Castle is located on a small hill without natural defenses, suggesting that its function was more symbolic and administrative than defensive. The manor consists of a pentagonal central body, enclosed in a double crenellated wall, with towers of different shapes and functions. The inner courtyard, decorated in the Gothic style, features a famous fresco of St. George and various inscriptions with moral proverbs.

Today the castle can be visited only by guided tours.
