The Porttimäki hut is located along the UKK-hiking trail in a meadow of an old farm. The hut is serving hikers and mountain bikers in the summer, and skiers during winter.
The Porttimäki hut is located on the heritage site of the former Porttimäki farm land. All the old buildings have been demolished and only the oven is left. The meadow opens up to a very beautiful view to the hills and to Kiantajärvi, south of Sotkamo. A few hundred meters from the house there is an old, small stone quarry on the hillside of Porttivaara.

- wood shed
- a dry toilet
It is allowed ot camp in the meadow. There is a spring near the hut, but the quality of it's water is not controlled.
