The village of Černvír is counted as one of the oldest settlements on the eastern slope of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. There is a wooden covered bridge from the 18th century.
The village lies in the valley of the river Svratka at an altitude of 316 m, 15 km southeast of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. The first written mention of Černvír dates back to 1285. Its dominant features include the Baroque Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary, which stands on the site of an archaeologically documented unique Romanesque church, which formed a complex with a defunct fortified settlement on a prominent promontory above the river. The second dominant of the village is the covered beam bridge over the Svratka River, which dates from 1718. It is 32 m long and 2.6 m wide. It is the oldest building of its kind in Moravia and is a technical monument.
