Der Schaukelsteg Sörnzig verbindet die Ortschaften Sörnzig und Fischheim in der Gemeinde Seelitz. Er wurde 1871 als hölzerner Steg erbaut, damit die Kinder zum Besuch der Schule nicht mehr mit einem Kahn übergesetzt werden mussten. Hochwasser rissen den Steg jedoch immer wieder mit sich. 1907 wurde als technisches Denkmal ein Drahtseilhängesteg errichtet. Für seine Benutzung wurden entsprechend einer Verordnung vom 8. Februar 1922 Gebühren erhoben.
Aber der Drahtseilhängesteg konnte den Fluten des großen Hochwassers von 1954 ebenfalls nicht standhalten. Daher erhielt die Hängebrücke, die zwischenzeitlich durch eine hölzerne Notkbrücke ersetzt worden war, 1955 eine Eisenkonstruktion. Seitdem stehen die Haltekonstruktionen für die dicken Drahtseile über der Zwickauer Mulde fest auf Betonblöcken.
Der zu Beginn des Jahres 2002 sanierten neuen Konstruktion konnte das Hochwasser im gleichen Jahr nichts anhaben. Die Brücke wurde nach dem Hochwasser 2013 im Jahr 2016 umfangreich saniert.
