Bridge length - 250 m, width - 27.7 m. Consists of five spans. The extended central double-winged span of the Palace Bridge is one of the symbols of the city.
The name of the bridge has been known since 1851 and was given from the adjacent Winter Palace and Palace Embankment.
With the coming of the new government in October 1918, the bridge was renamed Republican. On January 13, 1944, the name of the Palace was returned to the bridge.
Public transport
You can get to the Palace Bridge by city buses of routes 7, 10, 24, 191, 2MA, 3M, 5M, as well as trolleybuses 7, 11, 10.
Directions
The most convenient way to get to the bridge is from the Admiralteyskaya metro station (violet, Frunzensko-Primorskaya line). When exiting the metro, immediately turn right, exit onto Nevsky Prospect and walk along it towards the Winter Palace.From the station "Nevsky Prospect" (blue, Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya line) you need to walk along Nevsky Prospekt towards the Hermitage, and then turn in the direction of the Winter Palace.
You can use the metro station "Vasileostrovskaya" of the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line (green line). When exiting the metro, turn right and walk along Sredny prospect to the Makarov embankment. Walk right along the embankment to the Palace Bridge. You will find yourself at the bridge from the side of the Exchange Square.
