Especially for walkers and cyclists, the weir offers a good opportunity to cross the Isar and enjoy the great view of the river. The sandbanks at the weir in the Isar are popular for sunbathing in summer and invite you to take a cooling dip in the river. You can also sit in the sun on the weir itself and enjoy a pizza or a cool drink, for example.

Public transport
You can reach the weir by underground by taking the U6 line and getting off at the Alte Heide stop. The rest of the way has to be done on foot through the English Garden and takes about 24 minutes.It is also possible to get there by tram lines 16, 36 and 37. The stop to get off is Prinz-Eugen-Park and it takes about 21 minutes to walk to the destination.
The weir can also be easily reached by bus. To get there, take bus line 187 and get off at the Rümelinstraße stop. After that, it is only a 4-minute walk.
