Pedestrian bridge over the Main, which connects Frankfurt's historic city centre with Sachsenhausen
The Eiserne Steg is a pedestrian bridge in Frankfurt, which has provided a link between the historic city centre and the Sachsenhausen district since 1868. In 1912, the first version was replaced by a widened and reinforced construction. After its destruction in the Second World War, the Iron Footbridge was rebuilt unchanged. The last structural change was made in the early 1990s when the bridge was raised.
