Die "Kleine Schwester" der Göltzschtalbrücke befindet sich im wunderschönen Elstertal.

Die zweitgrößte Ziegelsteinbrücke der Welt liegt im Elstertal, wenige Meter nach der Mündung des Flüsschens Trieb in die Weiße Elster, nahe des Ortes Jocketa.

Mit 12 Millionen Ziegelsteinen kam bei der Elstertalbrücke nur knapp halb so viel Baumaterial zum Einsatz wie bei der zehn Meter höheren Göltzschtalbrücke, die zur gleichen Zeit durch die Sächsisch-Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft errichtet wurde. Mit 68 Meter Höhe ist die Elstertalbrücke nur etwa halb so lang wie die Göltzschtalbrücke. Am 15. Juli 1851 wurden die beiden Brücken feierlich durch den sächsischen König Friedrich August eingeweiht.

Beide Brücken sind über den 17 Kilometer langen Brückenwanderweg miteinander verbunden. Etwa in 35 Metern Höhe können Fußgänger das Elstertal auf der Brücke queren und die Aussicht auf die darunter fließende Weiße Elster genießen.
