Seit dem Jahr 2007 ist die Drachenschwanzbrücke in der NEUEN LANDSCHAFT Ronneburg ein Besuchermagnet.

Mit ihren 225 Metern und der eigenen Form ist sie eine der längsten innovativsten Holzbrücken in Deutschland. Technische Innovationen birgt das Bauwerk insbesondere in der ausgefeilten Stützenlösung und dem hölzernen Spannband des Überbaus. Die Holzbrücke hatte sich im Wettbewerb des Bauherrn, der BUGA Gera und Ronneburg 2007 GmbH, gegen eine Stahl-/Beton-Lösung durchgesetzt. Als Teil des Radfernwanderweges "Thüringer Städtekette" besticht die Brücke vor allem durch ihre Form. Mit ihren Wellen folgt sie der Erwartung natürlicher Wege. An den höchstgelegenen Aussichtspunkten ist die Brücke verbreitert und gibt den Blick frei über die Birkenhaine im Talgrund der rekultivierten Landschaft einstiger Bergbauhalden.

Im Jahr 2008 wurde die Drachenschwanzbrücke in der Kategorie Fuß- und Radwegbrücken für den Brückenpreis Nominierung und ausgezeichnet.
