    Drachenfels - Südfels

The Südfels is a viewpoint of the Drachenfels, with an elevation of 571m, the highest point of the northern Palatinate Forest.

Overall, the Drachenfels offers two viewing platforms (Westfels and Südfels), the Dragon Chamber and the Dragon Cave. The latter are located directly beneath the Südfels. Was this the scene of Siegfried's battle with the dragon from the Nibelungen saga? The "Friedrichsbrunnen" at the foot of the mountain is also commonly referred to as the "Siegfriedsbrunnen". Ideal for children.

The Drachenfels is a nature reserve.
