Storsand Beach

The beach in Storsand and the surrounding nearby area is an area frequented by locals and visitors from further away. On a nice, warm summer day you might very well find entire families enjoying the sun and swimming, but also couples and solo travelers. The nature preserve (part of the Natura 2000 program) is also home to a rich variety of birds, beautiful islands and forests. Occassionally, there have been sightings of some rarer birds, like the Bearded Reedling. The dunes on the beach feature pine trees and other vegetation growing on them, and inland from the beach you can find a network of hiking trails and lush spruce forests. 

In order to preserve this area, traffic and movement has been steered away from the most vulnerable areas. It is possible to stay the night in e.g. a camper or tent, but please acquaint yourselves with the guidelines (available at the entrance to the area). Parking is available in close vicinity of the beach.

Opening times

The beach is always open for the public. The surrounding nature is beautiful and calm all year round, however, if you feel like going for a swim, summertime is recommended :)
