Eingebettet in eine reizvolle Heide- und Teichlandschaft, umgeben von sanften Hügeln, findet der Besucher den Stausee Quitzdorf.

Hier bietet sich die Möglichkeit zur Naturbeobachtung, aktiver Freizeitgestaltung, zum Ausruhen oder zum Urlaub machen. In der Oberlausitz leben noch reichlich Tiere wie Fischotter, Seeadler, Eisvogel und Pirol. Oder denken wir an die vielen Brutpaare der Weißstörche, die es in den umliegenden Orten zu beobachten gibt. Der Stausee vor der Tür lädt zu jeder Art von Wassersport ein, wie zum Beispiel die Wassersportschule Oberlausitz und ist für Angler geradezu ein Paradies.
