Diezer Baggersee – Swimming in a unique setting

Crystal-clear water, towering rock faces and plenty of space to relax – the quarry lake in Diez is a popular meeting place for anyone looking to cool off on hot summer’s days.

The rock faces, which rise up to 12 metres high, lend the lake on the outskirts of town a special atmosphere. With an area of around 35,000 square metres, a depth of up to 18 metres and excellent water quality, it offers the perfect conditions for carefree swimming fun.

The Baggersee is particularly suitable for experienced swimmers. Four access points – a ramp and three sets of steps – allow bathers to enter the water comfortably. A spacious sunbathing lawn, two beach volleyball courts and a separate nudist area invite you to relax, sunbathe and enjoy some active pursuits.

If you need a refreshment break, you’ll find everything you need for an enjoyable break at the kiosk with its café and sun terrace, as well as at the beach bar – and you can round off your summer’s day in a relaxed manner.

Opening times

The quarry pond is open during the bathing season and in suitable weather from 11.00 - 20.00 hrs, in the summer holidays from 10.00 hrs.

On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the quarry pond is open from 10.00-20.00.
