At the end of August 2008, an impressive sculpture of a "sprinter" was erected on the square in front of the sports hall at the southern entrance to Bornheim. This 180-kilogram bronze figure, created by Karlsruhe artist Helga Sauvageot, depicts a female runner "sprinting" dynamically from stele to stele (upright stone pillars) towards the entrance to the hall.
Helga Sauvageot describes her work as a symbol of skilfulness, vitality and the joy of movement. The "sprinter" embodies these values through her powerful posture and the movement she radiates. The artwork is therefore aptly named "Dynamic" and forms an exciting contrast to the static steles.
Let yourself be infected by the energy and joie de vivre of the "Sprinter"!
