sgraffito-Malerei ist eine Kratztechnik auf mehrfarbigen Putzunterlagen. Man findet sie an mehreren Häusern der Altstadt. An der Vorderfront des Hotels "Karpfen" am Alten Markt ist die Geschichte Eberbachs in 14 Bildern festgehalten, die von dem Eberbacher Künstler Richard Hemberger im Jahre 1934 geschaffen wurden. Weitere sgraffito-Malereien befinden sich am ältesten Wirtshaus von Eberbach, dem Gasthaus "Krabbenstein" (Bild). Hier wurden u.a. alte Eberbacher Berufe verewigt.
