Het op het stadhuis na oudste huis van Venlo. Dateert uit 1492. Gelegen aan de Kwartelenmarkt, een nieuwgevormd plein dat in de jaren ’50 na de wederopbouw van de binnenstad gestalte kreeg.
Lokaal onderzoek identificeerde dit huis als het familiehuis van de Romers. Een geslacht dat in de 16de en 17de eeuw vrijwel permanent in de stadsregering was vertegenwoordigd
