Edifiée au XIIIe siècle, elle est formée d’une large arcade en tiers point*: l’assommoir*, encadrée de 2 tourelles en encorbellement qui sont portées par de puissants contreforts.

Au nombre total de 18 à l’époque médiévale, les portes fortifiées ne sont désormais plus que 3. Elles se composaient généralement d’une herse et d’un assommoir, actuellement visibles.
