Located in the grounds of the Charles Friry municipal museum, this 18th-century fountain, listed as a Monument Historique since 1966, is a masterpiece of the Rocaille style. It depicts Amphitrite, goddess of the sea and wife of Poseidon, residing in a gilded palace beneath the waves. Recognized by the crab claw on her forehead, she is often associated with Aphrodite in ancient art. Her Roman equivalent is Salacie, the goddess of springs.
