The main square of the Roman Iader, where the entire public life of the city took place, is located in front of the 6472 of St. Donat and the Archbishop's Palace.
It was built according to the rules of classical urbanism during the imperial period of the Roman state from the 1st century BC. to the 3rd century AD. The Zadar Forum is one of the largest in the Adriatic. Its width is 45 m, and its length is 90 m. They made up a series of regular boxes intended for trade and commerce. During the late antiquity, the nucleus of Christian buildings was conceived next to the Forum, which grew into a developed episcopal complex with a basilica and annexes, and in the early Middle Ages the 6472 of St. Donat, destroyed a complex of earlier buildings. Following history, the entire complex was completely demolished, and in its place was created Kampa, a medieval square with a Renaissance cistern.
