Massive castle, originally Lycian but rebuilt and extended in Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman times
The lower walls show traces of Lycian masonry, but the high walls of the inner castle are much later. It's possible to climb to the very top, with views to the sea, the Roman theatre and over Demre gorge.
