Es handelt sich um einen großen Steinbruch, das beeindruckendste Element der Grube von Mèdol. Hier wurden rund 50.000 Kubikmeter goldfarbener Kalkstein aus dem Miozän gefördert, der bis auf wenige, stark sandhaltige Teile Fossilien beinhaltete (Schillkalk). An einigen Wänden des Steinbruchs kann man noch das Abbausystem der Quadersteine erkennen. Die Spitze von Mèdol ist besonders hervorzuheben, da es sich um eine über 16 Meter hohe Säule handelt, die uns als Zeitzeuge dient.

Er zählt zum UNESCO-Welterbe.

Die Anfahrt ist über die Autobahn AP-7 (Richtung Süden), die Raststätte von Mèdol oder über die Schnellstraße N-340 zu bewerkstelligen: ab dem Kreisel von La Móra über die Autobahn und dann 5 Minuten weiter zu Fuß Richtung Tarragona.
