Il sito di Doss Zelòr, frequentato in epoca protostorica per le sue caratteristiche di “castelliere”, venne nuovamente insediato in epoca romana dal I al IV\V secolo d.C. dando vita ad un esteso villaggio.
Presso il Doss Zelòr si conserva un centro abitato alpino di età romana, sparso su una superficie di quasi 10 ettari e sepolto sotto i prati coltivati. Indagini archeologiche hanno riportato in luce, lasciandoli in parte visibili, i resti di 3 fabbricati, di superficie e forme diverse. Si tratta di edifici, parti di abitazione e parte di lavoro, costruiti utilizzando quasi esclusivamente legno e pietre a secco. La loro frequentazione risale alla fine del I° secolo d.C. ed è perdurata per oltre 100 anni.
