Archeopark Cífer – Pác is a newly opened and unique archaeological site offering a rare insight into life from the period of Roman-Germanic settlement through to the early Middle Ages.

The site features reconstructions of historical buildings — a Roman bathhouse, a Germanic sunken hut, and pottery kilns. The exhibition is enriched with rare archaeological finds from the prehistoric era, Roman military objects, and artifacts from the time of Great Moravia.

An educational trail along the Gidra stream illustrates the development of settlement in this region. A Quadi chieftain once resided here during the time when Germanic tribes occupied what is now Slovakia.

This site is considered one of the most significant archaeological localities in the Danubian Lowland, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore life on the frontier between the Roman Empire and the Germanic world.

What can you experience at Archeopark Cífer?An authentic full-scale reconstruction of a Germanic settlement, including a Quadi sunken hut, a farm building, a Roman-style stone bathhouse with underfloor heating and an external furnace. Other features include a well, kiln, and the fenced courtyard of a local nobleman.

The exhibition in the mill “Back to the Past” – From the first farmers to Great Moravia. This exhibition traces the settlement history of the region from the 6th millennium BC to the early Middle Ages. It includes original artifacts, replicas, and interactive elements, making history accessible to all age groups.

A guided tour will take you through the architectural concept of the nobleman's estate, as well as the political and cultural context of Roman-Germanic interaction.

An exceptional archaeological story – Research at the “Nad mlynom” site uncovered a building complex that served as the residence of a Quadi nobleman. It was constructed with the help of Roman building units during a period of peaceful coexistence.
