Here is a small and shallow cave, with an almost rocky roof, which probably became a sacred space. An archaeological excavation was carried out in the cave, during which no significant movable findings were found, except fragments of prehistoric ceramics in the surrounding area. In the cave there are niches, in which the believers devoted tributes. A second element is a shapeless stone, found on the left above the entrance to the cave, placed on the rock. The stone may have served as a sign of the sanctuary, something that was used by the Phoenicians, who had a presence in Kythera. This is something that has also affected the local religion. Kythera was the main place of worship of Celestial Aphrodite, which in the early years was worshiped in its an-iconic form. So apart from a refuge in prehistoric times, this cave was probably also used as a sacred site. In recent years it was converted into a pen.
