L’alpage de Chardève était une dépendance des seigneurs de L’Isle, au XVIIIe siècle, qui en tiraient d’importants revenus. La culture de céréales (orge et seigle) y est connue, à côté de l’élevage. Un deuxième édifice, disparu, trahit l’importance du site, bel exemple de l’exploitation des coteaux jurassiens durant l’Ancien Régime.
