Im 6. Jahrhundert war Löffingen ein Hauptort der Alemannen auf der Baar.

Unterhalb des Allenbergs wurden 1933 sieben Gräber entdeckt, darunter auch ein völlig erhaltenes Skelett. Die Gebeine aus dem Alemannengrab sind im Heimatmuseum ausgestellt.
