The Großkrut cellar hill is a unique jewel in the Weinviertel, offering the opportunity to let your mind wander in a relaxed atmosphere. When you visit, you have the chance to be invited by a cellar owner for a sip of wine. However, the Kellerberg is not just a visual delight. Every year at the end of August, the well-attended Kellerbergfest is celebrated, where regional delicacies and wines from the large community can be sampled. The Späth winery, for example, invites visitors to its 'Open Cellar' once a month. Information boards at the foot of the Kellerberg tell the story of viticulture in Großkrut and the 'old press' gives an idea of how laborious wine production once was. However, the Kellerberg is not only an experience in summer. In winter, it becomes the most popular tobogganing destination in the municipality. When there is enough snow, the youth of Großkrut set up a snow bar and invite you to après-ski on the Kellerberg, including night tobogganing on the floodlit slope.
