Berço do rio Lis, a Serra da Senhora do Monte é uma área de enorme interesse paisagístico e ecológico, onde se localiza a capela com o mesmo nome. Trata-se de um edifício secular, de data desconhecida, e é uma das raras edificações existentes a altitudes mais elevadas, tendo tido origem, segundo reza a lenda, num voto de aflição de Diogo Gil por ocasião de um temporal em alto mar.
