The Alvaiázere mountain range is the highest elevation in the Sicó Massif, at 618 meters.
Part of the Natura 2000 network, it has a remarkable biodiversity (essentially made up of shrubby vegetation based on carrascos, rosemary, oregano, St. Mary's grass, wild orchids, among others) as well as relevant geophysical features such as algares, lapas and campo lapiás (formations produced by the surface dissolution of limestone or dolomite rocks).geomorphological features such as algares, lapas and campo de lapiás (formations produced by the surface dissolution of limestone or dolomite rocks), among other examples found there. Different species of bats have been identified in some of the natural cavities, some of which are priority conservation areas.From the summit, the panorama is vast: to the west you can see the limestone mountain massif of Aires e Candeeiros, the Vale da Mata, the Serra de Sicó, and further away, on clear days, the sea; to the east, Avelar, the Serra da Nexebra, Vendas, Maçãs de Caminho, Maçãs de Dona Maria and the Serra de SãTo the east, where the fault escarpment is more imposing, with a drop of more than 300 meters, you can see the floodplain and the town of Alvaiázere; in the western foothills, the vast Bofinho depression whose origin is related to karst processes. In short, you have a 360º view of the Serra da Boa Viagem and the Serra da Lousã. To continue complementing the pleasant view, you can also make use of the swing and the belvedere.
