Pilgrim walks in Schwechat

The Römerland Carnuntum Way of St. James joins the Camino Slovakia at the border near Berg and flows directly into the Vienna Way of St. James. It is divided into four stages.

The Maria Ellend - Schwecht stage has a particularly beautiful section through the Donau-Auen National Park.

The Vienna Jakob's Way is an urban pilgrimage route and part of the Austrian Jakob's Way. It leads from the Jakob's Church Schwechat through the city of Vienna to St. Stephen's Cathedral and further to Purkersdorf up to the Jakob's Church Purkersdorf.

The Way of St. James largely passes through car-free and traffic-calmed areas.

Route: Jakobskirche Schwechat - Alberner Hafen - Freudenau Power Plant - Danube Island - Koloman Monument - Old Danube - Herz Jesu Church Kaisermühlen - Praterstern - Schwedenplatz - Stephansplatz (Cathedral)

The historical Jakobsweg led from Schwechat via Simmeringer Hauptstraße - Landstraße to Stephansplatz. From there, it continued via Graben Kohlmarkt to Mariahilferstraße, Penzingerstraße, and Linzer Straße all the way to Purkersdorf. web:www.jakobsweg-wien.at/historisch
